Is Disability a Death Sentence?

I, as a doctor have encountered disability at all levels.  Spiritual,  physical, financial.  Does it mean we are less desirable to society and less valuable,  if disabled? We struggle when disabled and need special support and attention to meet deadlines whether they are set by society or loved ones.  But is illness a disability? Then we all are, will be , have been disabled at certain point during life. All of Us. So why point fingers, why make it difficult for those in need? Is it any more true or wrong for Animals? For those pets we embrace as our family? Should we sentence them to death once sick and disabled? Is animal euthanasia carefully and ethically implemented in veterinarian centers? Who is to decide and how? Or when? Do we sentence our own family to death just so the strongest only survive? Is this what we live for? The teaching to pass on to generations to come? I'd like an honest answer from you, the animal lover, you in charge with their care: The Veterinarian!
