End of Golden Age
Covid came all of a sudden in February 2020. News from China where ambiguous and USA didn't initially close borders. When it was in full bloom , by March businesses were closed and workers forbidden to travel to NYC. I know reader you may think I'm cynical but because of Covid I had Mommy to spend more time with us at the Lake house. Her employer cut her hours in half and her spa in Nyc was shut down. It was a terrible distress for people around the world, but a great source of happiness for me. Mommy started dancing as an exercise routine, as all fitness centers were closed and we would consistently go on walks together All of Us including grandma. It was Amara's first year at the Lake house so she actually got the Best of it. As Mommy never failed to celebrate my birthday and since we were not sure of Amara's birthday that year we had a double celebration. And everybody, and more came. It was an outdoor gathering so not as restricted but I must say some of Mommy's friends acted weird.
The weird will be normal in weird times! And so it seemed. It was a great party, the last Ira my mom's Lake friend will attend, the last party Mommy hosted at the Lake. I hope we are soo missed, but the weird live long and multiply much, rarities like me, Mommy and the Unique atmosphere we created at Roaring Brooke Lake, very few will understand well enough to appreciate. It was my last real birthday party. I have lived life to the fullest at the Lake and it was not just because of nature's splendors with all the rainbow colors from spring to fall, but because of the love and warmth of the land, because me and Mommy were really Happy there. It was the end of our golden age!
