At the veterinarian

My path with the powerful medical professionals was never a shiny one. I was misdiagnosed with a heart murmur as a puppy.  I developed allergies to food, dust mites, you name it for which I've seen dermatologists,  naturopaths, alergologists. Mommy tried all kinds of new foods,  cooking, Raw foods didn't spare a dime. I think I caught some bug in daycare, cause my perfect skin all of a sudden developed redness, was itchy and with hot spots. Runs in the family of frenchies but I didn’t expect it. No veterinarian came with a solution that really worked.  We struggled: Special shampoos,  natural antifungal and so on. I was still a happy,  playful frenchie just concerned about Mommy's struggles with my health. One day she traveled and I was left in the care of her friend.  As I was in central park enjoying my off leash freedom I started running after one or more squirrels and didn't think to stop at the 5 feet fence. It was nobody's fault but the squirrels.  I injured my paw pretty bad and my friend didn't think to take me to the vet right away. Thank God Mommy got wind of it and rushed back home to Me. The veterinarian we went to on the upper west side around 67th Street said I had osteomyelitis and needed to amputate my paw. Mommy said : No Way! She took me home on antibiotics and changed my dressing as many times a day as needed ..and I got to keep my Paw. Mommy was my angel!
